BUSINESS QUESTIONS

What does a ChallengeBus programme cost?

All investments depend on the size of the group and the trip that needs to be made. The distance, travel times, type of bus and stops determine the price indication. We can work that out together. Another option is to set a budget and see how we can design a ChallengeBus programme within it. We can only give a final price once we’ve discussed these things together, at least in broad terms.

How long does a programme last?

ChallengeBus can be used in different ways. In twelve hours, for example, you can do a solid exploration expedition. In seventy-two hours there are even possibilities for an international expedition. It all depends on the goal you want to achieve.

How many participants fit on a bus?

ChallengeBus scales per bus, and the size of the bus is what counts. Buses range from 8 to 50 people. Depending on the goal, the trip and its duration, we look at how the bus should be set up. Larger groups are split across multiple buses, and can even take different routes.

Is technical knowledge required?

No. Teams are put together on passion, expertise and diversity within your organisation. What matters is that different disciplines are represented in the teams and on the bus. Where needed, experts can join for part of the trip. They can be your own experts, but we can also approach experts for you.

Can it be international?

Yes. The route and stopovers are decided together and can cross several countries. One edition has already passed through six countries.

What about safety and insurance?

We only work with certified coach companies. It is important that participants on a trip abroad also have their own travel insurance and valid health insurance.

PRACTICAL QUESTIONS ON BOARD

Is there fresh coffee on the way?

That’s possible. When we choose the bus, there are options for a bus with a small kitchen at the back with an espresso machine. Especially on multi-day trips, that’s very welcome.

What about sleeping?

For seventy-two-hour programmes we agree a realistic schedule in advance. We always build in some slack for roadworks and other unforeseen events. When drawing up the schedule, we decide together where to stop to sleep and shower. Wi-Fi is often essential too, because there are always teams who want to keep working to get their project just right.

What are the seats on the bus like?

That depends entirely on the bus we choose. From luxury VIP coaches with leather seats, often in groups of four around a table, to regular coaches with fabric-covered seats. Together we choose the bus that best suits your goal.

Can I charge my laptop?

Many of the buses have power sockets that work while the bus is running. We arrange that when we plan the trip.

What about internet?

There are two options. The first is that people use their own mobile data, often also outside the Netherlands. We can also include 5G routers in the package to provide the whole bus with mobile internet. The speed is of course not comparable to what you have at home. You are in a moving bus, after all.

Doesn’t the bus smell after 72 hours?

The buses have good climate control and air circulation. Rubbish is collected and removed at every stop. Beyond that, the people on board set the atmosphere, which is why we ask everyone to help keep things tidy.
